Our History

Meeting Community needs in
Bledsoe, Sequatchie and Cumberland Counties

Since receiving its first charter on September 30, 1913, First Farmers and Commercial Bank, (formerly First National Bank of Pikeville) has strived and grown to meet community needs. Some 70 prominent Bledsoe Countians organized the community bank and today there are over 201 community minded people involved in the bank’s ownership.

In 2014 the bank changed to its First Farmers and Commercial Bank name as it moved to a state charter bank. The Bank was established by farmers, merchants and businessmen to meet the financial needs for families, individuals, agricultural and businesses. Our name is rooted in our heritage and our desire to help serve our neighbors.

The Bank was first located on Main Street across from the Bledsoe County courthouse.  In 1922 a new bank building was constructed on the southwest corner of Main and Spring Streets. After being remolded in the 1950’s, an addition for bookkeeping was added in 1961.  In 1971 the bank expanded and added a drive through window. On September 26, 1975, the bank moved to the northeast corner of Main and Spring Street into a new 11,000 square foot building.  In 1997 the building underwent major renovations which added additional office space and provided a more historic look to the structure.

In the fall of 2003 the Bank expanded into the Dunlap market in a temporary building.  As the deposits grew and business expanded the bank built a 4400 square foot building to better serve the people of Dunlap and Sequatchie County.  The branch office completed in September 2005 also has a multi-function community room, two drive through lanes and a drive through ATM.

The Bank continued to expand with a move into Crossville and Cumberland County.  The 10,000 square foot branch opened in September 2006 to serve Crossville and Cumberland County. The branch has three drive through lanes, a drive through ATM and a community room with a dining area.

The bank in the summer of 2006 added Internet Banking and Bill Pay to its product list at no cost to customers.  Now customers can enjoy banking at home 24 hours a day seven days a week.

First Farmers and Commercial Bank has three offices to meet your individual needs and provide the financial services and financing to grow and expand commercial businesses in our communities.
